The Office of the Lieutenant Governor is preparing information about the Constitutional Amendments that will appear on the 2024 General Election ballot in November. In accordance with Utah Code 20-7-705, voters may request to submit an argument AGAINST the following Constitutional Amendments:
H.J.R. 10 (2023) – Proposal to Amend Utah Constitution – Election of County Sheriffs
H.J.R. 18 (2023) – Proposal to Amend Utah Constitution – State School Fund
Voters wanting to write an argument against either of the constitutional amendments listed above must submit a written request to the Speaker of the House of Representatives no later than June 10, 2024 at 5:00 pm. Requests to write the against argument must be sent to houseinfo@le.utah.gov. Please contact the Utah House of Representatives at 801-538-1048 for more information.
A voter who is granted permission to write the argument against a constitutional amendment must submit their written argument to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor by 5:00 pm seven days after the voter receives permission from the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
